The Rampage V is the latest inclusion to the ROG Rampage series of high end gaming/overclocking motherboards from ASUS. The Rampage V Extreme is the successor to the Rampage IV Extreme which was based on the X79 platform.



The Rampage V Extreme is now based on the x99 platform. It has LGA 2011-v3 socket which fits the 5th gen Extreme series processors from Intel. Rampage V Extreme comes feature packed and has outstanding overclocking capabilities. It also includes some ASUS exclusive features like SupremeFX 2014, DirectCU, Extreme Engine Digi+ IV,Fan Xpert 3, Sonic Radar ii, Game First iii and some others. The board has great cooling capabilities and it's ready for high end water cooling. Since the board is a flagship, it also costs higher than most other motherboards. Now, it costs about $500. 

Now, from the ASUS exclusive features, one of the most popular is the SupremeFX which is an on-board audio solution which makes sounds crisp and realistic. The SupremeFX is indicated through a red line located at the bottom left of the motherboard. The line illuminates when the PC is turned on. The ROG logo cover on top of the chipset also illuminates when powered on. DirectCU is copper cooling solution which results in better overall temps. The board has 4-way Crossfire and SLI support. Well, the ROG Rampage V Extreme is an overclocker's dream come true. With features that make overclocking as seamless as possible. And it's also an awesome board for high end gamers too. Other included accessories are an OC Panel and a Wi-Fi connector. The OC Panel fits in a 5.25" drive bay and it indicates the essential elements for overclocking like temperatures, clock speeds, fan speeds etc. Although the Rampage V comes with a hefty price tag, it's a solid board for enthusiasts who don't want to miss out on any features and want to get the best that the company can offer.!
